A Work Of Art?

As can be seen below, I've finally gotten over my fear of little pink and yellow flowers and completed the picture of Carla Gugino that I started on Monday.

My picture of her may or may not be a work of art but there's no disputing that Carla herself is one.

If the left hand looks a bit "off" it's because in the source image it was extremely blurred, having been caught, apparently, in motion. I decided not to try to replicate the sort of "double exposure" effect, and thus went with merely shading and blurring it.
Today went by pretty quickly. I got up, sat around, talked to my mom, had lunch with Brian and Kathleen, filled up my gas tank, finished the picture.
And that was pretty much it.
I had been intending to head to Ashburn to just meet Kathleen for lunch, but it turned out that she was "working from home" today, so all three of us got together for lunch here in Leesburg.
We met, once again, at their local hang out. I got there first.
After Kathleen arrived she asked who our server was and added, "We didn't get the ugly one, did we?"
I said that we hadn't, as I hadn't really looked at her, and based on the voice and the general shape of her I thought that it was the same girl who'd waited on us when we'd had dinner last week, as I had seen that girl flitting about from table to table.
Turns out I was mistaken and that we had gotten the "ugly" one.
Ugly seems a bit harsh. True, she's not terribly cute, but ugly?
I think that Kathleen's perception of her appearance was based on the fact that, on previous occasions, and on this one, the girl had proven herself to be dumb as a post, so her physical deficiencies were magnified by her mental deficiencies in Kathleen's estimation.
She didn't screw anything up too terribly, but she did screw up a couple of things.
For example, even though she had double-checked as to what kind Kathleen had asked for, she brought the wrong kind of dressing for Kathleen's salad.
On one of her passes she asked if Brian wanted another Coke. He said he did, but instead of bringing him another Coke she brought me another Sprite.
Still, I've had worse service.
In any case, my work week is once again nearly upon me. I don't really have much to say right now. I mostly just wanted to share the picture.
