I was sitting on the couch watching a movie I'd had the DVR record last night (D.E.B.S., for those of you wondering. It was okay, but didn't live up to its potential.), when I noticed someone sliding something in through my door and then quickly rapping with the knocker.
I assumed it was some corresponce from the management or a menu for the Chinese place across the street.
It was, in fact, my check from iWon.
Once I saw it, I gave my mom a call that could have been mistaken for an obscene phone call, given that I started off by saying "Guess what I'm holding in my hand."
In any case, I held off on depositing it, as I was meeting Kathleen for lunch and wanted her to see it. Then, in a grand moment of largesse I was generous enough to treat her to lunch at Quizno's.
Yep, I sure know how to live large.
From there I went to the bank and made the largest deposit I've ever made.
The whole reason I'd been venturing out into the world in the first place was to go to Wal Mart, but once I got there with my big, fat bank account, I couldn't remember why I'd gone there, and actually ended up walking out without buying anything.
I didn't even go to Best Buy, which surprised me.
I doubt that I would have bought anything, but I would have thought that I at least would have gone there to look around.
At this point it seems silly to buy anything and haul it home considering that I'll just have to move it next week (ideally, anyway).
On that front, I'm still waiting on the response from the underwriter, though my realtor called last night and told me that it's a good sign that it actually has been submitted to the underwriter.
He said he's going to call the person we've been working with over at the condo development and set up a walk through for the day before the settlement.
I may be back later with more of an entry.
