New Toy

Over the weekend the desire that's been building in me to buy a new toy finally got the best of me.
I'd been planning to wait until the end of the month and buy a Tablet PC, but the waiting was killing me.
So finally I gave in and bought myself a PDA to sort of tide myself over. Specifically, I ordered an HP iPAQ rx3715 Mobile Media Companion (Mine is cheaper than the one shown in the link, as I bought it refurbished and at a discount).
It should be pretty cool, though it's probably a little less useful for me than a Tablet PC would be, but it's also $500 cheaper (the Tablet PC I was looking at is also refurbished), and I'm hoping that this purchase will be enough to keep me satisfied so that at the end of the month I won't buy the Tablet PC.
I'm not really holding my breath, though, so I suspect that in a couple of weeks I'll be writing an entry about my newest toy...
Honestly, though, if I want something, and can afford it, why shouldn't I buy it? I mean, what reason do I really have to save my money?
For the future?
There's always a chance that the my company's stock price will one day rise again, so I've got some stock options that can help me out in the future, and I do contribute to a 401(K) plan. Also, even after this purchase I still have money in a savings account.
It's not like I have anyone else's well-being to concern myself with, and the fact of the matter is no matter how much money I save the odds of my ever being able to buy a house anywhere within commuting distance of work are about the same as me meeting Rachael Leigh Cook and having her fall madly in love with me.
So screw it; I bought a PDA.
