Hey look, I made a movie!
Well, kind of. Here are some pictures of the new car put together into a video slideshow dealie:
I thought about adding an audio track, but I couldn't think of anything appropriate. The only things that came to mind, for reasons that are beyond me, were "Pretty Vacant" by the Sex Pistols and "Supernova" by Liz Phair.
Neither really seemed to fit.
Speaking of fitting, I guess you can't go full-screen with videos uploaded to Blogger, so it may be hard to read the text in the movie. Your best bet, if you're really interested, is probably to pause it when it gets to a frame with text so that you can decipher the text. Don't bother on the last slide, though; you don't really need to see how I spelled "moonroof" as "moonroff."
(Edit: I bumped up the size of the player, which helps, but it makes the pictures themselve look crappy.)

No Pics Yet
Drove down to Manassas after work to show Scott and Stacy the new car (and to have dinner).
Stopped at Best Buy on the way back to pick up a car adapter and AUX input cable for the iPod so that I can hook it up to the car, then came home to see a bunch of smoke billowing skyward from the end of my street, which explained all the sirens I was hearing.
Not sure what was burning. At first I thought it might be the car dealership nearby, but upon closer inspection it looked like it was the car wash.
I'm sure Brian will have all of the details on his blog at some point.
It would have been kind of ironic if it had been the car dealership, as that's where I bought my Kia. I "burned" them by not giving them repeat business, and then they literally got burned.
Not that I have anything against them, it's just...well, irony.
Anyway, lots of gawkers and looky-loos made their way to my street to get a peek, but there wasn't much that you could see through the trees.
I meant to take some pictures of the car while it was still ligbht out, but after talking to my mom it was starting to get dark, so instead I decided to go through the Bluetooth pairing with my phone. It's pretty damn cool, though the process of entering phone numbers is kind of a pain. It should be able to import your contacts from the phone.
Oh well.
Anyway, I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow, including some pictures I took of the fire.

A New Car!
Pictures to follow (once it's light out).
As you can guess, I got the car, a brand-new Copper Red Mazda CX-7.
Didn't get it until late in the evening, as I had to go home from work, get the insurance check, call the dealer to see if the car was in, deposit the check, and then deal with south-bound traffic on 28, which was a total nightmare.
I was wrong about one of the features; I thought it was remote start, but it's just keyless start, meaning that as long as the key is on me I just have to turn a knob to start it.
Remote start would have been cool, but oh well.
There are plenty of other bells and whistles for me to play around with.
