So I was among the masses that AOL let go today (There, I said it; I worked for AOL. It's not like it was really ever a mystery.).
Pretty much my entire group was cut, with the exception, for some incredibly bizarre reason that is beyond me, the most recent hire, Clueless the Former Wonder Intern.
This pretty much sucks ass. Coincidentally, I got my first mortgage statement in the mail today. Whee!
Oh well, I've got some time to find something else, and honestly, it would be nice to get a job with a company that's not circling the drain.
We'll see what happens.

Bummer, Jon. My sympathies. I was really rooting for you and the rest of the desk to make it through. The bastids.
Maybe now you can get a job that's a little more fulfilling, if not with such a large effort/pay ratio.
Screw fulfillment; I just want a regular paycheck!
