As mentioned yesterday, I need some new portraits to flesh out my Heroic Portraits gallery.
Now, I could just make a bunch of random portraits by grabbing some images of people off the Web, but I think it would be more effective if I were to do some real portraits, which is to say fulfill actual portrait requests from regular people.
Towards that end, I’m asking all Threshold readers to put in their own requests for free portraits.
I can’t afford to do free prints, but I can provide you with free digital portraits, suitable for use as wallpapers, or for profile pictures on MySpace or your blogs, or whatever, and I’ll provide them in high resolution so that you can get your own prints if you want.
So here’s the deal. Send a digital photo of yourself (Or a friend; Heroic Portraits make great gifts!) to portraits@heroicportraits.com, along with a detailed description of how you’d like to see yourself.
That’s all you have to do, and soon you’ll be able to see yourself in all of your heroic – or villainous, if that’s your thing – glory on your computer screen and in my gallery of Heroes.
And then, if you could be kind enough to tell your friends where you got that cool picture of yourself as a super-hero, or swashbuckling corsair, or as a cartoon animal, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm excited to hear your plans for Heroic Portraits. I hope it takes off now that you've got more time to devote to it.
Stacy and I are thinking of going as The Incredibles (at least the adults) for Halloween this year. A portrait of something like that would be pretty sweet. I know copyright is a concern, but I'm sure you can craft a nice knockoff. ;) I'll see if I can get you a couple of HQ images to work with soon.
