It's All Over Except The Unpacking

After nearly a week’s worth of carrying things – many of them extremely heavy – up and down stairs, I’m finally fully moved into the condo.
For the most part, anyway. There are a few little things still sitting in my car, which I just don’t have the energy to haul up, but at least everything is out of the apartment.
I have difficulty believing that I have so much stuff. I took the opportunity to engage in some “spring cleaning” and throw away a lot of the shit I didn’t need (or didn’t feel like moving) or that needed to be replaced, and I still had a ridiculous amount of stuff to move.
I probably would have been fully moved in yesterday, but I had to spend the whole afternoon waiting for the cable guy to show up.
Turns out the no-name cable company doesn’t just resell services from the “real” cable company, they actually have a cable plant on-site here at the development.
Not having digital cable has taken some getting used to, as I keep finding myself wanting to bring up the on-screen guide and realizing that I don’t actually have that (unless I’m watching on my computer, where I do have a guide – I was surprised to see that this company was actually listed as one of the available providers when I downloaded the guide info – and the DVR capabilities, but it’s now always as convenient to sit and watch TV at the computer).
Speaking of the computer – the main system, at least – I had to set it up in my bedroom, which is less than ideal, because there’s really no way to set it up in the living room or dining room. Not with my current desk, at any rate.
I really don’t have the energy to write much more right now, but I’ll try to get in a more substantial entry tomorrow.
