Early Winter

On the day my dad had his heart attack Twin Lakes, Michigan, my hometown, got 2 and a half feet of snow.
That was October 12th.
Since then, we've gotten a few more inches here and there, and it's been cold and gloomy the whole time I've been here.
This picture is from October 16th. There was already more snow on the ground than Virginia will get all winter, and winter hasn't even started yet.

Also of note, the river in the background is the Misery, the river we scattered my dad's ashes in.
