Ehh, It's An OKAY Greeting. I Wouldn't Call it "Best."

Looking through my spam folder I stumbled upon the following piece of junk mail that stood out because, while still generic and vague, it was much more personalized than most of what I see:

From:  Alena (Two different e-mail addresses; one for "From" and a totally different one for "Reply-To.")

Subject:  Best Greeting

Hi! My name is Alena. I do not know whether you are interested in my message, but I'll be sorry if you do not write to you. I hope you understand my English (it's not very good, I know). Very difficult to start a conversation. I am a woman who still believes in true love. Yes, I am very lonely now, and I'm looking for a life partner. While I understand that I saw you on the wrong site, which is designed to find life partner, but still I want to start communicating with you. If you are only interested in sex and all that sort, I beg you, do not write me. When I am resting on the couch reading a book or watching TV, I feel that something is missing. Namely, I do not have  men, his warmth, his caresses.
For this reason I decided to write to you. I took a lot of profiles of men on a dating site, but my attention was stopped for you. If you feel the same as me, then you can write me and we will continue our acquaintance.
I would very much like to see your letter, with respect Alena.

It even came with this picture attached:

I wonder what Facebook profile or flickr gallery the spammer snagged this from?

It might have worked a little better if, you know, I actually had a profile up on any sort of dating site.
Or if I were stupid.

  1. Aw, Alana looks so wistful.

Yeah, you know all they want is for you to validate your email address so even more spam can come rolling in.
