10 (Also: !!!!!)

Before I mention anything about the Con, I just wanted to point out that, as of today, I’ve been sober for ten years.

That’s pretty much all I have to say on the subject, but I thought it was worth pointing out, not to be self-congratulatory, or to seek out praise, but because it’s a significant event, and, while I’m not exactly a shining example of how it’s done, I am an example of the fact that it can be done.

And hopefully that’s of some use to someone.

Now, as for the Con, well, there’s really only one thing that needs to be mentioned immediately.

I was getting things signed by Adam Hughes – and getting some tips on coloring techniques  in Photoshop – and I showed him one of my pictures.

“Oh, that’s lovely.”

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll give a more detailed report – along with pictures – later, but I had to mention that.

I love (LOVE!) that AH! showed appreciation for your work. I've known you were good for years, but it's nice when a professional acknowledges it.

Not sure which is more noteworthy, the ten years or the AH! comment. I'm leaning towards the ten years. Congrats!

Thanks.
Speaking of AH!, I just went outside for a smoke a while ago and there he was, smoking a cigar.
He was talking to two people, and I didn't want to intrude or interrupt, but I also didn't want to pass up an opportunity to hang out with him, so I stood there chain-smoking in the hopes that I could find an opening.
Then the thought "Lurk much?" occurred to me, so I wandered off towards the inner harbor for a little while to see what that was like (It was full of people and...is that Journey? It is Journey! [recorded music playing while the live band there was between sets]).
When I got back, even more people had gathered there.
Oh well.

Oh, FFS...went out again, and this time there were even more people there, including Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti.
