Cold Snore

This morning when I got up, my chest didn't hurt and my nostrils were reasonably clear, so I thought that my cold was finally gone.
Turns out it was just in hiding, waiting to jump out and surprise me as the day wore on.
Since I've had the cold, I've been having experiences while lying in bed that go something like this:

Me: Hmm...something doesn't seem right. Shouldn't I be breathing?
*GASP!*

It's exactly as fun as it sounds.

Sleep Apnea, brother, you has it.

Yeah, I do, and I've known about that for years - Lorie first noticed it, back when she actually cared whether or not I was breathing.
This has been different, though, as it's been occurring while I'm still awake, and is probably some joint effort between the sleep apnea and the cold.

That happens to me occasionally. It's disconcerting. I think they call that central apnea since it's not caused by an obstruction like your throat closing.

You should get a sleep study done and get a CPAP machine. I've had mine for a couple of weeks. It's not as bad as I thought it'd be. I keep meaning to blog about it but I haven't gotten around to moving the pictures off my phone. I'm such a lazy bastard.

Coincidence that we can add the vowels "ooe" and get "good spell"? I think not. Your commenting system commended me on my spelling, which is, as always, commendable.

Or it could be a fan of off-Broadway musicals, as it could just as easily be Godspell.

I suppose. Then again, it could be "god's pollo". Who doesn't like a little holy chicken now and then?
